Hoplitis (Proteriades) tristis (Michener, 1936) **

Hoplitis tristis specializes on pollen from Cryptantha Lehm. ex G. Don ( Boraginaceae ) ( Fowler 2020). This represents a new species record for Mexico. The BBPT collected two males in the Baja California Mountains in Sierra Juarez in May 2022. Voucher specimens are in MABC, and ECOAB. See fig. 255.
