ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1866a: 124 (key), 126 (description).
TYPE LOCALITY: “ germanicum [from Germany]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, holotype ( MZUF: Box 25): Homalomyia B.é Myiantha [sic!] Rnd. / roserii Rnd. , ♂, Germ. [= Germany] / 1331 .
CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Fannia posticata ( Meigen, 1826) ( Pont 1986a: 54) View in CoL .
REMARKS: Rondani (1866a: 126) described Homalomya roserii from a single male: “ specimen germanicum cl. De Roser misit ” [Mr. von Roser sent a specimen from Germany]. This nominal species was described under the generic name Homalomya , which is an “unjustified emendation of Homalomyia Bouché, 1834 ” ( O’Hara et al. 2011: 97) and that Rondani (1866a: 123; 1877c: 42) considered as a senior synonym of Myantha Rondani, 1856 .
