Homalomya pallitibia Rondani, 1866 View in CoL
ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1866a: 124 (key), 127 (description).
TYPE LOCALITY: “ in Apennino parmensi [ Parmese Apennines ( Italy)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 2 ♂♂, 1 ♀, syntypes (covered with mold) ( MZUF: Box 25): Homalomyia B.é Myiantha [sic!] Rnd. / pallitibia Rnd. , Parma / 1334; 1 ♂, syntype ( MSNC: Box DIPTERA Ex collezione Rondani - I): Myantha pallitibia R. 505 ♂ Parma / Coll. Rondani, scatola n° 6, posiz. E-2 / Museo di Storia Naturale Università di Pisa, Calci ( PI) ex collezione Rondani; 1 ♂, syntype ( OUMNH General Collection: Box 146.9): syntype / Typ. CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Fannia pallitibia View in CoL ( Pont 1986a: 53, Gorodkov et al. 1995: 9).
REMARKS: Rondani (1866a: 127) described both sexes of Homalomya pallitibia without specifying the exact number of specimens and not giving a range of lengths. We found five syntypes in this study. An additional three MZUF specimens numbered “1334” are not included in the type series because their labels are yellowish rather than the greenish color of Rondani’s original handwritten ones and are in a lower row in the Box, for which reason we treat them to be subsequent additions. This nominal species was described under the generic name Homalomya , which is an “unjustified emendation of Homalomyia Bouché, 1834 ” ( O’Hara et al. 2011: 97) and that Rondani (1866a: 123; 1877c: 42) considered as a senior synonym of Myantha Rondani, 1856 .
