CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Fannia lucidula (Zetterstedt, 1860) View in CoL ( Pont 1986a: 48, Gorodkov et al. 1995: 9, Pont 2002: 107).
REMARKS: Rondani (1866a: 130) described Homalomya herniosa from some males and three females: “ Mares aliquos … possideo. Foeminas tres etiam observavi [I have some males …. I observed also three females]” he had collected plus one female received from F.M. Piccioli. There are six females in the MZUF and one female in the OUMNH: these specimens did not have any label indicating their type status. We are unable to single out the three females upon which Rondani based his description. We leave the recognition of the three female syntypes to a future specialist. One female from “Gallia” is not included in the type series because it is not from a type locality. This nominal species was described under the generic name Homalomya , an “unjustified emendation of Homalomyia Bouché, 1834 ” ( O’Hara et al. 2011: 97) and that Rondani (1866a: 123; 1877c: 42) considered as a senior synonym of Myantha Rondani, 1856 .
