Holotype. Female from Portsmouth, Dominica, 100 m, VII.1976, B. Malkin ( AMNH).
Etymology. The specific name means “the beautiful” in Spanish. Diagnosis. Females of Hibana labonita sp. nov. are diagnosed from the remaining known females of the genus by the epigyne with a small hood, located distally between the ends of the side edges (see Brescovit & Lise 1993, fig. 5).
