This species was described from Almaya, Ethiopia, on a series of both sexes and larvae from Beta vulgaris ( Mound 1965) .
Specimens studied: Ethiopia two females and one male paratypes from Beta vulgaris ( NHM) . Netherlands four females that were taken in quarantine from Aloe and from Hedera ( NPPO) .
