Diagnosis. The forewing length is 9.5– 10 mm in males and 11.5 mm in females. The new species is very similar externally to H. dentifascia but differs in the somewhat smaller size, the thinner pattern elements and the somewhat shorter zigzags of the postmedial line. Additionally, females have somewhat narrower forewing than in H. dentifascia . The reliable identification is possible by the examination of genital structures. The genital capsules and the aedeagi of the two species are very similar. In the vesica of H. thaifascia sp. n., the subbasal chamber bears a cluster of numerous small conical cornuti laterally which is absent in H. dentifascia . The medial diverticulum of the new species is somewhat broader than that of H. dentifascia . Additionally, in H. thaifascia sp. n., the shorter lobe of the distal diverticulum is evenly broad and only slightly dilated subapically whereas that of H. dentifascia is narrower proximally and medially and strongly drop-like dilated distally. In the female genitalia of the new species, the subostial lobes are somewhat wider than in H. dentifascia and the ductus bursae is somewhat wider. Additionally, the posterior cluster of spinules of the corpus bursae of H. thaifascia sp. n. is laterally dilated and fused with the spinulose area of the appendix bursae whereas it is laterally strongly narrowed and containing smaller spinules in H. dentifascia .

Distribution. The new species is known from North and West Thailand (Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai and Kanchanaburi Provinces) ( Černý & Pinratana 2009, as Miltochrista dentifascia , partim).

Etymology. The specific epithet refers to the occurrence of the new species in Thailand and its close similarity to H. dentifascia .
