Report associated with sponges: This species was reported among hexactinellid Rossella antarctica , R. nuda , R. racovitzae, and Anoxycalyx (Scolymastra) joubini (cited as Scolymastra joubini ) collected from eastern Weddell Sea ( Bartsch 1995).
Remarks: According to the mite's morphology, it is specialized for a life in sponge tissue ( Bartsch 1995).
