Argentina , Paraguay.— Brazil: PR (ELEF, NHMB), RJ ( Rübsaamen 1907, as 'Psyllidengalle'), RS ( Ronna 1924, Ronna 1934, Costa 1941, 1958, Bienzanko et al. 1949, Reiniger 1956, as Metaphalara spegazziniana ; Parseval 1937, as Metalaphalara [sic] spegazziniana and Methaphalara [sic] spegazziniana ), SC (Chiaradia & Milanez 1997).
Host plant. Ilex paraguariensis (Aquifoliaceae) .
