Glyphotmethis spp.

Except the data given in the “Previous recods” part of the taxa, the specimens of some doubtful records (as

distribution and identification) or the records given as the genus level were not examined or could not be

found in the collections. Many of them are probably lost. Those records are discussed below:

Uvarov 1930: 372: as Tmethis escherichi: Ismid (İzmit) (Sureya Bey). No specimen could be found from

Ismid in the Museums. Distributionally it should be confirmed.

Cejchan 1965: 483: as Glyphotmethis adaliae angorensis : Adana, 1926, 1 female (Zool. Mus. Hamburg). According to Cejchan (1965: 483) “this female specimen forms the interstage between G. adaliae angorensis and G. adaliae adaliae ”. It should be reidentified. G. dimorphus armenus is only taxon recorded from Adana Province herein.

Karabaǧ et al. 1971: 85: as Glyphotmethis sp. : (Çanakkale), Gelibolu, Bayırköy merası, 10.7.1969, 2 male, 1 female ; Gelibolu, Sütlüce köyü merası, 10.7.1969, 1 male, 1 female; (leg. T. Karabaǧ v.d.): These records were given from the European part of Turkey. Only Asiotmethis limbatus was found from that Region .

Karabaǧ et al. 1971: 86: as Tmethis sp. : Konya, Altınova D.Ü.Ç., 11.6.1963, 1 male; Ankara, Bala, Avşar köyü, 9.6.1963, 2 females; Çankırı, 12.6.1963, 1 female: These records given from Central Anatolia are probably belong to the species of Glyphotmethis . Only Tmethis species , T. pulchripennis asiaticus , in Turkey is know from SE of Anatolia.

Karabaǧ et al. 1980: 14: as Glyphotmethis sp. : Ankara, Merkez, Dumlupınar köyü, 26.8.1975, 1 male: It can be found 3 subspecies of G. escherichi , and their interstage forms in the contact zones in Ankara and environment.

Önder et al. 1999: 165: as Glyphotmethis ovipennis : Amasya: Suluova, 21.1.1978, 1; Çorum: Central province, 7.7.1976, 1; Alaca, 26.6.1978, 5; Bayat, 28.6.1977, 7; İskilip, 4.7.1978, 1; Kargı, 4.7.1978, 2; Sungurlu, 25.6.1977, 1 specimen (N. Lodos): This species records from the above regions are very doubtful (see also G. ovipennis ). They should be reidentified. In those regions G. sevketi and G. escherichi inermis were found.
