3. Globocrania pruinosa ( Redtenbacher, 1908: 411, pl. 19: 3 (♀ )) [ Bostra ]. HT, ♀: Coll. Br. v. W., Belmonte (Bras.), Thorey; det. Br. v. W. Bostra pruinosa ; 8506 [NHMW, No. 795]. comb. n.

Remarks: It might be that this species is a synonym of the very similar G. tabida ( Redtenbacher, 1908) but the very few specimens at hand do not allow a delimitation of the full range of intraspecific variability of both taxa. The more distinct spines of the mesopleurae, relatively shorter and less acutely apically pointed subgenital plate and more prominent and pointed apppendages of the praeopercular organ distinguish G. pruinosa from G. tabida . The white colouration of the HT appears to be an individual trait.

Distribution: E-Brazil, Est. Bahía, Belmonte [NHMW].
