Gerygone everetti Hartert, 1897c: 267 (Savu) .
Now Gerygone inornata Wallace, 1864 View in CoL . See Meise, 1931: 367, Mayr, 1986b: 452, and White and Bruce, 1986: 335.
LECTOTYPE: AMNH 606967 About AMNH , adult male, collected on Sawu (5 Savu) Island, 10.32S, 121.58E ( USBGN, 1982a), Lesser Sunda Islands, Indonesia, in August 1896, by Alfred Everett. From the Rothschild Collection. GoogleMaps
COMMENTS: Hartert did not designate a type in the original description, only saying that he had a large series. Later, Hartert (1920: 494) listed the male collected in August 1896 as the type, thereby designating it the lectotype. The above specimen is the only adult male collected in August, and it bears the Rothschild type label. There are 10 paralectotypes: AMNH 606972 About AMNH and 606973, adult males ; AMNH 606974–606976 About AMNH , adult females ; AMNH 606968–606971 About AMNH , immatures ,
all collected on Sawu in August and September 1896 by Everett; and AMNH 606965, male, collected at Atapupu, Timor, in July 1897, a specimen specifically mentioned by Hartert as part of his type series. Later, Hartert (1920: 494) claimed the inclusion of Timor in the range of G. everetti to be an error and restricted the type locality to Sawu Island.
