Type data. Lectotype male (designated by Linnavuori , 1977: 46, as Type ): South Africa , Caffraria (Naturhistoriska Riksmuseet, Stockholm, Sweden).

Distribution. Kenya, Mali, Mozambique, Republic of South Africa, Tanzania. The species was also listed from Sudan by Lis (1999) and Robertson (2009), but, its original record (Hoberlandt 1 954) came from “ French Sudan ”, at present in Mali.
