Remarks. This is the first record of this genus and occurrence of the species in Ecuador ( Fig. 10B View FIGURE 10 ). Forrestopius kirti was only known from the holotype; this is the second specimen collected of the species. The Ecuadorian specimen has the malar space 0.5× as long as basal mandibular width, not 0.4× as in the holotype.
Holotype: ♀ “ COSTA RICA, Cartago Prov., La Cangreja, 1950 m, ix.1991, Gauld & Hanson” ( NHMUK) . Non-type material. ECUADOR: ♀ Pichincha, Rumiñahui, San Rafael, near Quito , 2500m, 21–29. VI .1975, C. Porter ( FSCA) .
