Filistata (Filistatoides) milloti Zapfe, 1961: 147 , figs 3–8; Taucare-Rios, 2011: 26, figs 1‒2.

Remarks. Filistatoides milloti was described in the genus Filistata by Zapfe (1961), subgenus Filistatoides , based on females from Taltal, Antofagasta, Chile, and types should be deposited at the Museo Nacional de Historia Natural, Santiago. Taucare-Rios (2011) published new records of this species from the Tarapacá Region based on specimens collected in Iquique and Mamiña. Recently, as a result of fieldwork undertaken in Chile, samples collected from both regions have provided us only with specimens of the genus Pikelinia . After examining the material of Taucare-Rios (2011) assigned to F milloti , we determined that these specimens also belong to the genus Pikelinia and they are immature. The type of F. milloti was not found in the MHNS during a visit in March 2013 by the first author. The original description does not include diagnostic structures that permit the recognition of this species, except for the size of the specimens, which are at least 30% larger than any known Filistatoides . Moreover, the actual distribution of Filistatoides appears to be from Guanajuato, Mexico (type locality of F. xichu n. sp.) to Northern Colombia (see Gray 1995, figs 22‒23) and Cuba. Therefore, it is unlikely that this species belongs to Filistatoides . However, current information does not permit a formal transfer of this species.
