Type locality: les mers de la Nouvelle - Hollande (voyage de Baudin).

Material in MHNG, Lamarck collection: holotype MHNG INVE 51702 (ex MHNG 1098/4 ) (figured herein, Fig. 4A ), 85.4 x 34 mm. Locality on the label: Australie .

Current taxonomic position: Pleuroploca filamentosa ( Röding, 1798) ; placed in synonymy with Pleuroploca filamentosa by Oostingh (1925): 158. Locality is Indo – Pacific and northern Australia.
