Evinus hainanensis View in CoL sp. nov. (Figs 2A–O)
Description. Length (including forewing). Male: 3.0– 3.1 mm; female: 3.1–3.2 mm.
Stramineous. Head and thorax marked with light brown spots on crown, anteriorly and medially on pronotum. Frontoclypeus without markings. Gena light brown, clypeal suture brown. Mesonotum with anterolateral triangles dark brown, pair of obscure brownish longitudinal bands medially. Scutellum without pair of posteromedial spots brown, with markings posterad of scutellar suture and black arcuate submarginal band. Forewings with one dark brown macula on costal margin and brown markings distally in apical cells. Anteclypeus parallel-sided, ca. twice as long as wide, apex truncate; clypeal suture slightly arcuate.
Male abdomen. 2T apodeme with posterior lobes extended to near posterior margin dorsally; 1S apodeme with submedial lobes foot-like ca. 2.0 times longer than wide, dorsolateral extension weakly bifurcate with long dorsal branch much larger than small lateral branch; 2S apodeme with submedial lobes long, narrow, bent mesad near midlength, ca. 2.5 times as long as basal width.
Male genitalia. Pygofer with lateral lobe abruptly tapering caudally, ventral margin nearly straight, posterior margin rounded. Subgenital plate with lateral lobe triangular, extended beyond dorsal margin of pygofer lobe. Connective Y-shaped, arms weakly separated. Aedeagus in lateral view with ventral margin of atrium straight, shaft beyond atrium evenly curved dorsad; lateral margins convexly tapered to apex in posterior view; constricted near base in ventral view.
FIGURE 1. Evinus angulatus sp. nov. A–B, Male, female, dorsal view; C, head, dorso-anterior view; D, face; E, male, lateral view; F, male pygofer, lateral view; G–I, connective and aedeagus, lateral, caudal and ventral view; J, 2nd abdominal tergite, dorsal view; K–L, 1st sternal apodeme, dorso-anterior and anterior view; M–N, male 2nd sternal apodeme, dorsal and anterior view.
Holotype: male, China, Hainan Prov., Wuzhizhou Island, 4.xii.2008, Coll. Lu Lin (NWAFU). Paratypes: 3 males, 4 females, same data as holotype.
Remarks. This species resembles E. longus in coloration but differs in having the anteclypeus shorter, the pygofer lobe less elongate, and the lateral margins of the aedeagal shaft convex in posterior view. Etymology. The species epithet refers to the type locality, Hainan Province.
Evinus longus sp. nov. (Figs 3A–P)
Description. Length (including forewing). Male: 2.8–2.9 mm; female: 2.9–3.0 mm.
Pale brownish. Head and thorax marked with slightly brownish symmetrically placed spots on crown, anteriorly and medially on pronotum. Frontoclypeus light brownish with several pairs of indistinct transverse dark brown markings. Clypeal suture dark brown. Mesonotum with anterolateral triangles light brown, scutellum without distinct markings, lateral margins white. Forewings with veins white or yellowish and one dark brown macula on costal margin, and brown markings distally in apical cells.
FIGURE 2. Evinus hainanensis sp. nov. A–B, Male, female, dorsal view; C, head, dorso-anterior view; D, face; E, male, lateral view; F, male pygofer, lateral view; G–H, connective and aedeagus, lateral and ventral view; I, 2nd abdominal tergite, dorsal view; J–K, male 1st sternal apodeme, dorso-anterior and anterior view; L–M, male 2nd sternal apodeme, dorsal and anterior view; N–O, male pygofer, caudal and ventral view.
FIGURE 3. Evinus longus sp. nov. A–B, Male, female, dorsal view; C, head, dorso-anterior view; D, face; E, male, lateral view; F, male pygofer, lateral view; G–H, connective and aedeagus, lateral and ventral view; I–J, 2nd abdominal tergite, dorsal and anterior view; K–L, 1st sternal apodeme, dorso-anterior and anterior view; M–N, male 2nd sternal apodeme, dorsal and anterior view; O–P, male pygofer, caudal and ventral view.
Anteclypeus parallel-sided, ca. twice as long as wide, apex truncate; clypeal suture transverse.
Male abdomen. 2T apodeme with posterior lobes slightly divergent and extended beyond posterior margin; 1S apodeme with submedial lobes nearly straight, ca. 2.5 times longer than wide, lateral extension evenly tapered, not bifurcate, with small anterior subapical lobe; 2S apodeme with submedial lobes nearly 2.0 times longer than basal width, bent mesad and with angulate lateral tooth near midlength.
Male genitalia. Pygofer with lateral lobe long and narrow, ventral margin concave, posterior margin angularly rounded. Subgenital plate lateral lobe triangular, extended beyond the dorsal margin of pygofer. Connective Yshaped, arms weakly divergent. Aedeagus with shaft evenly curved dorsally in lateral view, evenly tapered to apex in posterior view, with slight constriction near base in ventral view.
Holotype: male, Thailand, Chaiyaphum Pahin Ngam NP car park at Tung Dok Grajeaw, 15º 38.438’ N, 101º 23.576’ E, 780m, Malaise trap, 6–12.vii.2006, Kratae Sanong & Buakaw Adnafai leg. Paratypes: 1 female, same data as holotype; 4 males, 1 female, Thailand, Chiang Mai Doi Phahompok NP Kiewlom 2, Montane Forest, 20º 3.331’ N, 99º 8.552’ E, 2112m, Malaise trap, 7–14.ix.2007, Komwuan Srisom & Prasil Wongchai leg.
Remarks. This species resembles E. sinuatus in coloration but differs in having the anteclypeus shorter, the 2S apodeme lobes more strongly curved mesad and the aedeagal shaft evenly tapered in posterior view.
Etymology. The specific epithet refers to the relatively long, slender pygofer lobe.
