Euxylophora paraensis Huber (1909: 85) View in CoL
Emergent tree up to 50 m tall, native to the Amazon region, previously only registered in Brazil. For Colombia it is here reported from a hitherto unidentified specimen collected by Richard Evans Schultes and Isidoro Cabrera in the year 1951 in the Amazon region ( Figs. 3 View FIGURE 3 & 4 View FIGURE 4 ). This species is under the category EN-Endangered according to the IUCN criteria ( Fernandez et al. 2020), and it is considered a well-known timber species in the Brazilian Amazon. Further field exploration and research will be needed for establishing the actual distribution area and the regional conservation status.
Specimen examined:— COLOMBIA. Amazonas-Vaupés : Río Apaporis , entre el río Pacoa y el río Kananarí, Soratama, 250 m, 28 September 1951 (fr), R.E. Schultes & I. Cabrera 14160 (COL-60226!) .
