Diagnosis. This species does not belong in any of the species groups proposed by García Aldrete et al. (2013). It differs from the known species of Euplocania , by having the hypandrium of five sclerites and by having the forewing with a slender, pigmented marginal band, from pterostigma to A 2, with two hyaline areas from R 2+3 to CuP, on each side of the vein ends at wing margin. Therefore, a new species group is proposed for this species, the quinquedivisa group (see Discussion, below).
Color (in 80% ethanol). Compound eyes black, ocelli hyaline, with ochre centripetal crescents, head pattern ( Fig. 31 View FIGURES 31–38 ). Scape proximally pale yellow, distally dark brown, pedicel yellow with a V-shaped spot dark brown, f1 proximally pale brown and then pale yellow, f2 pale yellow. Legs with coxae brown, trochanters dark brown, femora proximally dark brown, then brown; tibiae brown with apex dark brown; tarsomere 1 brown, with end dark brown, tarsomeres 2–3 yellow. Forewings veins brown, a marginal pigmented slender band from pterostigma to A 2. Rs and crossvein Rs-M dark brown. Pterostigma dark brown with small irregular brown areas ( Fig. 32 View FIGURES 31–38 ). Hindwings ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 23–30 ), almost hyaline, with a dark brown spot, between CuP and wing margin, a dark brown spot between A 1 and wing margin, veins brown, each with a brown spot distally at wing margin on R 4+5 and M.
Morphology. As in diagnosis, plus the following: Head with vertex concave in the middle; compound eyes without interommatidial setae ( Fig. 31 View FIGURES 31–38 ). Outer cusp of lacinial tip broad, with eight denticles ( Fig. 34 View FIGURES 31–38 ). Forewing pterostigma triangular, wider in the middle, narrow basally, areola postica tall, wide, with round apex, triangular, M with four primary branches ( Fig. 32 View FIGURES 31–38 ). Hindwing Rs and R 2+3 straight, R 4+5 almost straight, M sinuous ( Fig. 33 View FIGURES 31–38 ). Hypandrium ( Fig. 35 View FIGURES 31–38 ) of five sclerites, central sclerite almost straight anteriorly, posteriorly with two postero lateral projections, each stout, elongated, curved outwards, distally acuminate, basally with two small acuminate projections, a triangular, directed anteriorly and other slightly curved upwards; a field of setae on the posterolateral corners; antero lateral pair of sclerites strongly sclerotized, stout, elongated, anteriorly rounded, narrowing posteriorly, apex truncate; setae as illustrated; posterior pair of sclerites small, basally narrow, with two lateral acuminate projections, widening posteriorly, with internal margin projected inside, with apex slightly bilobed and strongly sclerotized. Phallosome ( Fig. 36 View FIGURES 31–38 ), side struts basally fused, V-shaped, distally forked and curved inwards. External parameres stout, with a field of pores in the middle, anteriorly with two elongated arms, with outer arms shorter than inner arms, posteriorly with two forked projections, with a small concavity between them, the inner process curved, acuminate, outer process rounded. Five pairs of endophallic sclerites, anterior pair, small, tripartite, heavily sclerotized; antero-mesal pair stout, almost elliptic, heavily sclerotized, touching in the middle of endophallus; antero-lateral pair, stout, elongated, bowling pin shaped, curved outwards distally; postero-mesal pair almost triangular, arising in the middle of the mesal posterior sclerite; a posterior pair, small, curved and inserted into a distinct membranous region, mesal posterior sclerite small, U-shaped. Epiproct wide, almost straight anteriorly, with one concave area on each antero-lateral corner; sides converging to round posterior border, three mesal setae near anterior border, setal fields on posterior edge and one macroseta on each side ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 31–38 ). Paraprocts broad, almost elliptical, sensory fields with 29–30 trichobothria on basal rosettes, setae as illustrated ( Fig. 38 View FIGURES 31–38 ).

Etymology. The specific name is a compound word based on the Latin words quinque = five, and divisa = divided, and refers to the hypandrium of five parts.
