Eulophia hermansiana M.W.Chase & Schuit View in CoL , nom. nov.
Replaced synonym: Eulophiella longibracteata Hermans & P.J.Cribb, Kew Bull. 69(2)-9517: 3 (2014).
Notes: not Eulophia longibracteata (Lindl.) T.Durand & Schinz, Consp. Fl. Afric. 5: 22 (1894). The new name honours one of the authors of the basionym, Johan Hermans, author of many publications on Orchidaceae , especially of Madagascar and the Mascarenes.
Eulophia laotica (Guillaumin) M.W.Chase, Kumar & Schuit. , comb. nov. Basionym: Geodorum laoticum Guillaumin, Bull. Mus. Natl. Hist. Nat. View in CoL , sér. 2, 36: 697 (1965). Notes: this has been considered a synonym of Geodorum recurvum (Roxb.) Alston , but one of us (PK) has observed it in the wild in
Laos and has no doubt that it is a distinct species, distinguished by larger and fewer flowers that touch the soil and emit a unique fragrance.
