Euconnus (Cladoconnus) anatolicus Franz

( Figs. 7–8 View FIGURES 7 – 14. 7 )

Euconnus (Cladoconnus) anatolicus Franz, 1997: 60 . Type locality: Raum südlich von Adapazari in West-Anatolien.

Material examined (3 3, 4 Ƥ): LECTOTYPE, 1 3, present designation: TURKEY: white label (p) W-Anatolien, S. Adapazari / red label (p) LECTOTYPE, EUCONNUS sbg. Cladoconnus anatolicus FRANZ, Hlaváč & Stevanoviċ des, 2011 (NHMW). PARALECTOTYPES (1 3, 4 Ƥ): same data as for the lectotype (NHMW, PHKS).

Lectotype designation: Redescription of this species given below is based on seven specimens deposited in NHMW having a status of syntypes. Franz (1997) mentioned seven specimens in his original description. One male is here designated lectotype, two males and four females are paralectotypes, in order to ensure the stability of nomenclature and provide a unique name-bearing type for Euconnus anatolicus .

Redescription: Body shiny, dark reddish-brown, body length 1.50–1.55 mm, body width 0.60–0.65 mm; pubescence long, golden, sparse on elytra, dense and erect on sides of pronotum and posterior part of head. Head about as long as wide, tempora evenly convergent posteriorly; eyes protuberant; supra-antennal prominences gently protuberant. Antennae ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 7 – 14. 7 ) about 0.65; antennomeres III–VII transverse, subequal in length and width, about 1.65 times as wide as long; only VII wider, about 1.75 times as wide as long; antennomeres VIII and IX slightly wider than long; antennomere X transverse, 1.40 times as wide as long and about 0.85 times as long as IX; terminal antennomere 1.25 times as long as wide and about 1.90 as long as X. Pronotum slightly longer than wide. Elytra about 1.30 times as long as wide, sutural striae very short, visible just at base of elytra. Aedeagus 0.31 mm in length, as in Fig. 8 View FIGURES 7 – 14. 7 .

Distribution: Known only from the type locality in western Turkey (Sakarya Province).

Differential diagnosis: Euconnus anatolicus differs from other species of schlosseri group by small body, 1.52–1.54 mm long, transverse antennomere X which is 1.40 times as wide as long and by all antennomeres III–VII clearly transverse. See also differential diagnosis for E. meybohmi .
