Material Examined: CNCR20405; number of specimens: 2; SM station; collection date; 16/10/98.

Type locality: New Jersey

Distribution: This species has been recorded from Connecticut to Miami ( Ryer & Orth, 1987; Kensley & Schotte, 1989) and in the Gulf of Mexico ( Kensley & Schotte, 1989; Bostroem & Mattila, 1999).

Range extension: In the Gulf of Mexico, Erichsonella attenuata occurs in Florida, Mississippi and Texas ( Kensley & Schotte, 1989; Bostroem & Mattila, 1999); however, the presence of E. attenuata at SM inlet extends its geographic distribution into the southwestern Gulf of Mexico
