Description
Adult ( Figure 5A View Figure 5 ). Wing expanse 23.0 mm. Head yellow-white, with blackish brown scale tufts laterally. Antenna with scape dark brown on dorsal surface, pale white on ventral surface; flagellum dark brown on dorsal surface, yellow-brown on ventral surface. Labial palpus snowy white, with scattered black scales on inner side; second segment black on outside, bearing a black annulus subapically; third segment with black spots near base and at middle, orange distally. Thorax dark brown, deep grey at middle posteriorly. Tegula dark brown, yellow-brown at base, grey-white posteriorly. Fore wing ground colour deep yellow-brown; costal margin orange, except black at base; termen oblique slightly, more or less concave below apex, dark brown; dark brown stripes placed between costa and subcosta, subcosta and R 1, R 1 and R 2, respectively; grey-white stripes along each vein distally; an irregularly rectangular large dark brown patch ranging from base to end of cell; cilia yellow-grey, dark brown basally. Hind wing yellowbrown, apex black; cilia grey-yellow basally, pale white distally. Fore leg yellow-white, tibia dark brown on outer side, tarsus white, somewhat pink, brown on outer side, bearing long black and pink hairs, with red and white rings distally, black at apex; mid- and hind legs yellow-white, mid leg with first tarsal segment dark brown on outer side; hind leg bearing black and white rings distally, black at apex. Abdomen orange yellow.
Male genitalia
( Figure 6A View Figure 6 ). Uncus long and slender, apex acute. Gnathos with anterior margin arched backward medially, forming a small process, a pair of strongly sclerotized long thorn-like processes arising from lateral side of the median process. Valva elongate rectangular, apex almost truncate; costa gently arched beyond middle; dorsoproximal process large, somewhat hammer-like, setose. Sacculus narrow, thinned distally, with very narrow, sclerotized edge along median portion dorsally. Juxta shield-like, lateral lobe long and narrowed. Aedeagus stout, nearly half length of valva, distal two-fifths obliquely truncate.
Diagnosis
This species is represented by the gnathos arched backward and forming a median process anteriorly, a pair of strongly sclerotized long thorn-like processes arising from the lateral side of the median process, and the valva elongate rectangular and truncate at apex.
Etymology
The specific name is derived from the type locality.
