Distribution. Russia (S Ural).
Remarks. The population occurring in the S Urals is similar to E. diminutella (Zeller, 1847) as understood by Povolny (2002) and E. foulonsensis Povolný, 1981 . E. diminutella was described from Sicily, and specimens from there are larger, with more brownish (less greyish) forewings with a rather distinct, yellowish basal part, when compared with specimens from the S Urals. Differences in the genitalia are small, but this is also the case with several other Ephysteris species occurring in Europe. E. foulonensis is known from France and N Italy. The taxonomy of this group will be treated by Huemer & Karsholt (in prep.).
