Eoophyla nyasalis kenyalis ssp. n.
Type locality: Kenya, Nyeri.
Imago (Fig. 44): Wingspan ♂ 15–17mm, ♀ 20–25mm. Head dark brown, proboscis scaled; labial palpus dark brown above, pale beneath, segment 3 as long as segment 2; antenna finely ciliate wth scale teeth on each segment, dark brown. Thorax dark brown, tegulae with pale scales, becoming darker towards tip. Forewing with base dark fuscous; an indistinct white subbasal line; antemedian area dark fuscous suffused dull orange, bounded on outside by a whitish curved irregular line, blackish on outside; a whitish postmedian fascia almost reaching costa, with scattered dark and pale fuscous scales; a dull orange orbicular spot, beneath it an angled blackish line; tornus dull orange enclosing a metallic grey spot; a partial oblique postmedian fascia, white near costa becoming grey; subterminal area dull orange, blackish towards costa, interrrupted by subterminal line, white near costa, grey beneath; a cream spot above tornus; terminal cilia fusous, indistinctly chequered dark and pale. Hindwing basal area whitish with an indistinct dark fuscous basal spot; a blackish antemedian fascia enclosing an orange spot, white towards costa; a whitish median fascia, broader on costa, bounded on inner side by a single line, on outer side by a double line, whitish before dark fuscous terminal line; termen orange; terminal cilia dark fuscous. Female with wing more elongate, costa less straight, pattern as male but colours tending to be less bright.
Genitalia: not distinguishable from the nominate subspecies.

Distribution: Kenya, the Aberdare Mountains and rivers descending therefrom
Material examined: Holotype ♂ Kenya; Central | Nyeri 6000ft | 6.i.1999 | D.J.L. Agassiz. 21 paratypes, 18♂ 3♀ same data as holotype ( DJLA).
