Pileus convex to plane, center depressed when mature margin straight, even, 5-15 mm in diam. Pileus surface smooth, virgate, striate, brown in the center, becoming light brown to the margin. Lamellae adnate, subdistant. Stipe central, equal, slightly fibrillose when old, brown, 40-60 × 0.7-1 mm. Hyphal system monomitic, generative hyphae simple septate, rarely branched, without clamp connections, thin-walled, hyaline, 4.9-7.3 μm. Basidia clavate to subclavate, 4-spored, smooth, thin-walled, hyaline, without a clamp connection, 34.1-42.7 × 9.7-13.3 μm. Cystidia absent. Notes - Entoloma pygmaeopapillatum is characterized by a brown striate pileus, 5-6 angled basidiospores with an acute tip ( Arnolds and Winterhoff, 1986). Entoloma pygmaeopapillatum is classified as Entoloma sect. Nolanea , subsect. Minuta ( Reschke et al., 2022) . Many species in subsect. Minuta have a basidiome with depressed center and fibrillose stipe ( Reschke et al., 2022), which accord with E. pygmaeopapillatum . According to the phylogenetic analysis, E. pygmaeopapillatum formed a monophyletic clade with high bootstrap value ( Fig. 6 View Fig ). Interestingly, the closely related species ( E. incanosquamulosum , E. minutum , E. ortonii , E. vindovonense ) were all collected in Europe ( Reschke et al., 2022). Also, reported specimens of E. pygmaeopapillatum were collect- ed in France, Germany, Slovakia ( Reschke et al., 2022), so this study is the first report of E. pygmaeopapillatum in Asia.
