Etymology. The name of the species refers to the dark (Latin: obscurus) colouration of the body.
Material studied.
Type material. Morocco. Holotype, 1♂, W slope of Haut Atlas , 3 km SW Oulma (ca. 20 km NNE Agadir), 300 m, 17./ 23.II.1998, leg. B. & H.Bohn (completely on two slides: Ma 189/1). ( ZSM).
Additional material. Morocco. 10♂, 4♀, ex L : 4♂, 3♀, same data as holotype (slides: ♂, Ma 189/2, 6, 9, 10, 13; ♀, 189/3, 7, 11, 12). (C. Bohn, ZSM) .
Diagnosis. Differences to other species of the subgenus not yet substantiated.
Description. Size. Length of pronotum in male 2.11–2.21 (2.17 mean) mm, in female 2.46–2.59 (mean 2.53) mm.
Male structures. See under characters of the subgenus.
Colouration. Predominantly dark brown, almost black, lighter coloured areas: head and coxae lighter brown, a narrow yellowish interocular stripe, lateral thoracal margins and tegmina transparent, often with dispersed dark dots, distal parts of legs yellowish; lateral borders of tergites whitish ( Figs. 17 View Fig A–H, M). Lightly coloured areas on tergites and sternites of females usually much more extended than in the male ( Figs. 17I, N, O View Fig ).
Distribution. So far only found at one locality (Ma 189) in the SW of Morocco, N of Agadir.
