Diagnosis. This species is easily recognized by having the tergal process with a small tubercle inside a depression, abaxial margin of harpe rounded, the basivolsella with thick sparse setae, inner median filament anterior to the aedeagal dorsal lobes with the apex projected dorsally.

Description. Head. Mandible with three distal teeth. Median clypeal lobe trapezoidal, with one angulate short tooth; median clypeal carina low in profile, complete or nearly so, arched in profile. Frons coriaceous, punctures small and sparse. Vertex crest straight or nearly so. Dorsal pronotal area with anterior margin coarse. Tergal process lateral, with tuft of setae inside a tubercle. Posterior hypopygeal margin straight medially with rounded corners. Genitalia. Harpe entirely wide, apical margin rounded, abaxial margin not projected; gonostipes shorter than harpe, ventral margin not excavated until outer margin of basivolsella; digitus short, basidorsal corner poorly projected; basivolsella without protuberance, with spines; aedeagal ventral valve with apex aligned with apex of dorsal one, wide, progressively narrowing apicad; inner margin straight; outer margin straight, parallel; aedeagal dorsal valve narrow with two pairs of apical lobe; outer lobe short, narrow, apical margin abruptly acute and posterad; apex of inner median filament anterior to apex of lobe, directed dorsad; basal cover plate entirely narrow, posterior margin slightly incurved medially; apodeme extending beyond genital ring.

Variations. Basal cover dorsal plate can be narrower and posterior margin deeply incurved medially, one specimen with head and mesosoma very setose.

Material examined. Holotype, 1♂: BRAZIL, Amazonas , Manaus , Reserva Ducke, Igarapé Ipiranga, 31.XII.2002, arm. Malaise, J.Vidal & J.Vidal col. ( INPA) . Paratypes: 4♂, same data as holotype except, 13.I.2003, J. M. G. Ribeiro & J. Vidal col. ( INPA) ; 2♂, Igarapé Tinga, III.2003, J. M. F. Ribeiro col. ( INPA) .

Etymology. This species is named after the agronomist Johanna Döbereiner, nominated for the Nobel Prize in 1997 for her research on biological nitrogen fixation.

Distribution. Brazil (Amazonas).

Remarks. It is similar to D. margarethae sp. nov. by having the aedeagal dorsal valve narrow, the apex of inner median filament thick and the anterior to aedeagal outer lobes, and the basivolsella with spines. However, D. johannae sp. nov. has the harpe with apex narrow and basal portion slightly wide, the apex of inner median filament anterior to apex of outer lobes, the basal cover plate narrow, and the tergal process with a small tubercle, whereas D. margarethae sp. nov. has the harpe with apex very wide and basal portion not wide, the apex of inner median filament aligned with apex of aedeagal dorsal lobes, the basal cover plate wide, and tergal process with tuft of setae.
