Taxonomic notes. The taxonomic problems surrounding D. nigrofasciata and D. wilemani are elucidated in the taxonomic notes of the preceding species. In any case, D. wilemani and D. diluta variegata are hard to be separated well due to their similar external patterns, partially sympatric distribution and synchronous occurrence in spring and summer. After examining the type series of D. wilemani and Fentonia variegata , it is clear the female paralectotype ( Figs 13, 14 View FIGURE 9 – 16 ) of the latter is actually D. wilemani . In addition, there is one record of melanic male specimen ( Fig. 26 View FIGURE 25 – 32 ) from northern Taiwan showing no mentionable difference with typical specimens in genitalia ( Fig. 54 View FIGURE 47 – 58 ).
Diagnosis. Disparia wilemani can be distinguished from D. diluta variegata by: the longer length of the antennal rami, roughly 4 times rather than 3 times the shaft diameter in the median region, which is relatively long; forewing wider, transversal fasciae being more distinct; uncus long and strongly incised medially rather than broad and shallowly incised; phallus with long lateral sclerotized process.
Distribution and bionomics. This species is distributed in Taiwan and Japan (Ishigaki Island and Iriomote Island: Kobayashi, 2011, as D. nigrofasciata , misidentification). In Taiwan, it is distributed widely in low to midelevation (275–2450 m) primary forests. The species is presumably multivoltine and its adults occur nearly all seasons.
