TYPE LOCALITY: “ in toto agro parmensi et in aliis Italiae plagis etiam … In Etruria …, in Pedemontio …, in Insubria [in all the Parmese territory and other parts of Italy … Etruria (= Tuscany) … Piedmont … Insubria (= Lombardy)]” .

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Dinera grisescens ( Fallén, 1817) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 362) .
REMARKS: Rondani (1862d: 67) described Dinera rufifrons , without specifying the number, the sex or the length of the specimens he had collected and also received from F.M. Piccioli, G. Mussino, L. Bellardi, D’Arco and the Villa brothers. We found 17 syntypes in this study.
