[Distribution in the Arabian Peninsula: Qatar ( Abdu & Shaumar 1985 as Dielis thoracicus collaris ; Saudi Arabia ( El-Hawagry et al. 2013), Yemen ( Pérez 1907 as Elis collaris ).

[Extralimital distribution: Indo-Malayan region ( India to China, Indonesia to Philippines) ( Krombein 1978).

[Remarks: These records are almost certainly misidentifications of Campsomeriella thoracica (see below), these two species having often been confused in the past ( Betrem & Bradley 1972); the inclusion of both C. collaris and C. thoracica by El-Hawagry et al. (2013) in their list is puzzling but may reflect misidentification of one sex. This species is accordingly considered not to occur on the Arabian Peninsula.]
