2. Didymocheton alliaceus (G.Forst.) Mabb. View in CoL , comb. nov. ≡
Trichilia alliacea G.Forst., Fl. Ins. Austr. : 33. 1786 – Lectotype (first step designated by Smith in Contr. U. S. Natl. Herb. 30: 503. 1952, second step designated here by
D.J. Mabberley): “Rotterdam Insula oceani pacifici”, J.R. & G. Forster s.n. (BM barcode BM000799772!).
Distribution. – Western Pacific islands to Tonga.
Note. – Smith indicated the type as “ Tonga […] Nomuka Group: ‘ Cook’ s 3rd Voyag e’ (TYPE BM)”; of the three extant Forster sheets at BM, barcode BM000799772 alone has an old printed label “ Type Specimen” and is highly probably the sheet Smith had in mind, so it is here confirmed.
