Type material. Holotype ♂, VIETNAM: Vinh Phuc Prov.: Tam Dao Nat. Park , 950 m, 01 viii 2006, leg. Park, Chae & Cuong, gen. slide no. nklep028, in NIBR.
Description. Adult ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 9–16 ). Wingspan 15.0 mm. Head dark brown dorsally; frons gray. Ocellus absent. Antenna with scape brown on dorsal surface, grayish white on ventral surface; flagellum yellowish brown with darkbrwon annulations dorsally, with fine cilia ventrally. Second segment of labial palpus yellowish brown on outer surface, pale gray on inner surface, clothed with rough scales; 3rd segment thickened, nearly as long as 2nd segment, yellowish brown. Thorax and tegula brown; mesothorax without hair pencils arising from anepisternum in male. Fore- and midleg brown on outer surface, grayish white on inner surface; hindleg pale yellow. Forewing ground color pale brownish gray, scattered with dark-brown scales, more in basal half; costa gently arched, with a short, black streak from costal 3/4 to near apex; a narrow, yellowish-white subterminal line well preesentyed along termen internally; apex slightly produced; termen oblique; fringe pale yellow in basal half, then grayish. Hind wing broader than forewing, pale brownish gray; fringe concolorous with ground color.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 40 View FIGURES 35–40 ): Uncus extremely broad, uniquely developed with triangular median process on posterior margin, densely bearing strong setae. Gnathos short, small; culcitula semicircular, densely spined. Valva narrow in basal half and broadly expanded in distal half, slightly longer than length of tegumen plus uncus; with free basal lobe bluntly rounded apically, about 1/5 the length of valva. Vinculum slightly shorter than the length of tegumen plus uncus; lateral lobe arising from basal 1/3 of vinculum, slightly incurvated, with acute apex, about 1/3 the length of vinculum. Saccal region convex anteriorly. Sicae arising from lateral sides of saccal region, symmetrical, curved in S-shape, acute apically. Aedeagus longer than valva, triangular in basal 1/6, then parallel sided, slightly narrowed distally; one sclerotized marginal lobe arising from zone slender, acute apically, reaching apex of aedeagus; another short, sclerotized lobe from zone inflated distally, about 1/6 the length of aedeagus.
Female unknown.
Distribution. Vietnam (Vinh Phuc).
Diagnosis. This new species is superficially similar to Dichomeris ferrogra Li & Wang, 1997 , but it can be distinguished from the latter by the third segment of the labial palpus with rough scales, whereas in D. ferrogra , the third segment is smoothly clothed. The male genitalia of this species are easy to distinguish from those of the latter by the uncus with trianguar median process on posterior margin with dense strong setae, and the valva broadly expanded in distal half.
Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin, - marg (= margin) with a Latin suffix -alis, referring to the uncus with dense setae on the posterior margin.
