Diagnosis

This species closely resembles D. tjederi (Carpenter) in general appearance, but is distinguished from the latter by the absence of the bifurcate lateral branch of the paramere; female genital plate with slender and apically pliable posterior arms.

Redescription – male

Body and head yellowish brown; vertex with black area in the ocellar triangle and between the antennal bases; rostrum with two black lateral longitudinal stripes ( Figure 6C View Figure 6 ); maxillary palp brownish except the apical segment dark brown; filiform of antennae dark brown, 42-segmented.

Thorax. Nota yellowish brown, with a black longitudinal stripe along each side; pronotum with 12 setae along anterior margin; pleura and legs pale yellow. Tarsomeres darkening toward apex; apical tarsomere entirely blackish brown ( Figure 6A View Figure 6 ).

Wings. Forewing length 15.0–18.0 mm, width 4.0– 4.5 mm; hindwing length 13.0–15.0 mm, width 3.7–4.0 mm. Wings dusky hyaline, without marking except the indistinct extremely reduced smoky apical band. Pterostigma distinct. Hindwing similar to forewing in pattern ( Figure 6A View Figure 6 ).

Abdomen. Terga I–V with two lateral black longitudinal stripes; notal organ of tergum III not prominent. Tergum VI with a pair of short digitate anal horns; segment VII elongate, almost as long as segment VI, very thin in the basal half, and abruptly thicker in the distal half; segment VIII similar to VII in length but the distal half not thickened markedly ( Figure 6A, D, E View Figure 6 ).

Male genitalia. Genital bulb oval. Epandrium broad, gradually tapering toward apex, with a broad and deep emargination between two digitate lobes, apically with long setae ( Figure 7A View Figure 7 ). Hypovalves broad, with long setae along the inner margin, reaching the apex of gonocoxite ( Figure 7B View Figure 7 ). Gonostylus slender, the inner margin with a slender median process; the basal process slender and strongly sclerotized, pointed at apex. Parameres trifurcate, with the basal branch very short and hook-like; the lateral branch strongly curved, reaching the apex of the gonocoxite, the mesal branch extremely elongate, extending well beyond the median process of gonostylus. Ventral valves of aedeagus strongly sclerotized, apically blunted; dorsal valves subtriangular, basally with four or five long black setae, apical part rounded and separated markedly ( Figure 7C, D View Figure 7 ).

Redescription – female

Antenna 38-segmented. Head, body and legs similar to male in colour. Forewing length 16.0– 17.5 mm, width 4.0– 4.5 mm; hindwing length 14.5–15.0 mm, width 4.0 mm, markings and venations similar to male ( Figure 6B View Figure 6 ).

Female genitalia. Subgenital plate broad, gradually tapering toward the rounded apex, terminating in an apical ligulate process, with long setae distally ( Figure 7E, F View Figure 7 ). Genital plate broad, and strongly folded ventrally on each side. Posterior arms slen- der, slightly convergent, with the distal half broadened and pliable at apex. Axis short, pointed distally ( Figure 7 View Figure 7 G–I).
