Notes:—Spermogonial and aecial stages have been reported as Aecidium species ( A. asterum Schwein. , A. senecionis Desm. , A. taraxaci J.C. Schmidt & Kunze , etc.) on species of Asteraceae ( Aster , Taraxacum , Crepis , Senecio , etc.) ( Hiratsuka et al. 1992, Zhuang et al. 1998). Miura (1928) reported occurrence of these stages on Ixeris species in Japan by inoculations ( Ito 1950) and their morphological similarities with A. compositarum Wallr. However , these stages of this species need to be reconfirmed. Taxonomic relationships of this species with Puccinia dioicae Magnus and P. extensicola Plowr. also should be clarified because similarities of morphology and life cycle ( Zhuang et al. 1998, Azbukina 2005). This species is widely distributed in Europe, North America and East Asia including China and Russian Far East. ( Zhuang et al. 1998, Azbukina 2005).
