[ Holotype: AMNH; ♂ Green River about 1859 mts, Wyoming, USA; July 2, 1920]

Diadasia lutzi is distributed in the western USA and northern Mexico. This species specializes on pollen from plants in the genus Sphaeralcea A. St. - Hil. ( Malvaceae ) (Sipes & Tepedino 2005). In the BCP, it has been recorded in the Coastal Sage Matorral, Succulent Coastal Matorral, Central Desert ( BC), and Magdalena Plains ( BCS) regions. TEMU and SEMC, report preserved specimen records collected in the Magdalena Plains in June , 1973, and April 1994 ( GBIF 2023), additionally UCRC reported specimens collected in the Central Desert in 1949. We reviewed two females collected in the Lower Colorado Desert in April 1939 ( CASC). Additionally, the BBPT collected 17 specimens in the Coastal Sage Matorral in May 2020 (3 ♀, 3 ♂) in Succulent Coastal Matorral in March 2021 (11 ♂). Voucher specimens are in MABC, and ECOAB.
