ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1861e: 42 (key), 44 (description).

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in collibus agri parmensis [ Parmese hills ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 2 ♀♀, syntypes (one missing right hind-leg, the other missing mid- and right hind-legs) ( MZUF: Box 15): Degeeria Mgn / dexiaria Rnd. / 779.

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Lecanipa leucomelas ( Meigen, 1824) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 158) .

REMARKS: Rondani (1861e: 44) described Degeeria dexiaria from just the female sex, without specifying the exact number of specimens, but giving a single measurement of length: “ foeminas non nullas legi [I collected some females]”. We found two syntypes in this study.
