This species has been adequately described by Drew et al. (1998) and Drew and Romig (2013) except for postabdominal structures. A male of the fly collected from Meghalaya was dissected to study the postabdominal structures. Epandrium deeply sclerotised, black, lateral surstylus with posterior lobe slightly longer (2-3 ×) than anterior lobe; epandrium bulbous (in posterior view), glans of phallus elongate (0.7 mm) with patterned aculeus.
