Diagnosis. Same as C. andreossyi except the carapace is yellow/grey; frontal, orbital, anterolateral margins of carapace with minute granules; carapace dorsally flattened, nearly glabrous ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 ). Frontal margin with 3 slightly pointed spines, mesial spines bifurcated, frontal lobes are separated by rounded incision ( Fig. 14 View FIGURE 14 C). Inner orbital margin smooth.

Chelipeds: merus, carpus, propodus with minute irregular granules, tips of both fingers black, spoon shaped without molariform teeth.

G1 and G2 same as in C. andreossyi (see Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 A–F).

Gastric teeth same as in C. andreossyi (see Fig. 10 View FIGURE 10 A–D)

Remarks. The species was until now only known from an unspecified locality in the Red Sea ( Pesta, 1911) and from an unrecorded locality in the Dahlak Archipelago ( Neumann & Spiridonov, 1999). It is now recorded from the Gulf of Aqaba and the Sudanese coast.

Geographical distribution. Same as C. andreossyi .
