Diagnosis. Same as C. andreossyi except the carapace is slightly trapezoidal, yellow/grey in colour; dorsal surface smooth or nearly glabrous, gastric, frontal, orbital, anterolateral margins, branchial regions with small pointed granules ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 ). Frontal margin with 3 prominent spines, surrounded by thick bristles. Frontal lobes separated by deep incision with minute spine on each side ( Fig. 14 View FIGURE 14 B). Inner orbital margin smooth.

Chelipeds: dorsal margin nearly smooth, dorsal part of carpus, propodus irregularly granular, granules largest on dorsal surface of propodus, tips of both fingers grey to brownish, tips of both chelae spoon shaped, both fingers of larger chela with 2 small molariform rounded teeth, smaller chela without molariform teeth.

G1 same as in C. andreossyi except the distal part has an additional inner spine with the sperm channel opening ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 B, C). G2 nearly identical as in C. andreossyi ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 D–F).

Gastric teeth as in C. andreossyi (see Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 A–D).

Remarks. Recorded here for the first time from the Red Sea (Gulf of Aqaba and Sanganeb Atoll, Sudan).

Geographical distribution. Same as C. andreossyi .
