Holotype.

MLU. GeoS. 1477, incomplete cranium.

Type locality.

Halle-Nietleben, Saxony-Anhalt.

Type horizon.

Dornburg Subformation, Röt Formation, Upper Buntsandstein Subgroup. Age: Middle Triassic (Anisian: Aegean).

Diagnosis.

Distinguished by the following combination of features: paired fangs of maxilla followed by three maxillary teeth; nasal small, excluded from external narial margin; prefrontal and postfrontal in contact along orbital margin; and frontal entering anterior margin of supratemporal fossa ( Rieppel 2000).
