Features: Diameter 20–36 μm, marginal striae 8–10 in 10 μm.

Description: Valves circular, central area undulate, coarsely punctate. Marginal striae radiate, occupy almost halve the distance to valve center. Marginal chambers cover 2–3 alveolar openings.

Remarks: C. striata may be confused with similar species like C. littoralis Lange & Syvertsen (1989: 343) and C. baltica (Grunow) Håkansson (2002:104) but can be distinguished by the absence of valve face fultoportulae.

Ecology and Distribution: A widely distributed brackish water and marine species. Previously reported from the Gulf ( Simonsen 1974; Al-Handal 2009). Common in Basra corals.
