Cybaeus thermydrinos Bennett View in CoL in Copley et al. 2009: 385, figs 61–66. World Spider Catalog 2020.
Type material. Holotype male. U.S.A.: California: Tulare County, 2.5 miles east of California Hot Springs , matured 5 October 1959, W.J. Gertsch & V. D. Roth ( CAS), examined.

Diagnosis. Cybaeus thermydrinos is grouped with C. fraxineus spec. nov. in the informal fraxineus subgroup. Distinguishing the aspenicolens and fraxineus subgroups is discussed in the aspenicolens species group diagnosis. Differentiating the male and female of C. thermydrinos from those of C. fraxineus spec. nov. is discussed in the diagnosis of the latter.
