HOLOTYPE. China. Xishuangbanna male [ China / Yunnan /Xishuangbanna/ 650 m /09 April 1958/F. Pu] (IZAS).
Description. Male: length: 5.1 mm (n = 1). width: 2.7 mm (n = 1). Head: mediumsized; punctures small with short, narrow, white scales; eyes medium, subround, finely faceted; frons 0.21 as broad as head across eyes; clothed with longer, clavate, white scales, small oval interocular fovea. Rostrum: length: 3.0 mm (n = 1); 0.59 as long as body; cylindrical; dorsal carina, 2 lateral carinae with deep, oval, punctures between; straight to antennal insertion, then abruptly deflected to apex; scrobe ventral; scape inserted in apical half. Antennae: length: scape 1.4 mm, funiculus: segment one 0.4 mm, two 0.3 mm, three 0.2 mm, four 0.2 mm, five 0.15 mm, six 0.15 mm, seven 0.15 mm, club 0.5 mm, funicle 1.7 mm (n = 1); scape 0.82 as long as funicle; vestiture of narrow, elongate, white scales; club elongate, compact, acuminate, not as long as segments 4– 7. Thorax: length: 1.5 mm (n = 1). width: 2.0 mm (n = 1); 0.75 as long as broad; disc broadly rounded from base to constriction, punctures small with narrow, elongate, subclavate, ochroleucus scales with a feeble triangular macula of clavate, white scales proximal to scutellum and feeble basolateral macula; anteroventral macula of clavate, white scales above procoxae; convex in lateral view; scutellum medium as long as broad, subimpressed with clavate, white scales; mesosternal intercoxal process prominent, clothed with clavate, white scales; mesepimeron, mesepisternum clothed with broad, short, clavate, white scales; metepisternum clothed with narrow, elongate, ochroleucus scales; procoxae clothed, with clavate white scales. Elytra: length: 3.0 mm (n = 1); striae shallow, punctures, with short ochroleucus scales; humeri rounded; intervals broad, flat, clothed with narrow, elongate, ochroleucus scales with macular fascia on intervals 1–3 and 7–10 of broad, clavate, white scales; crosshatched setae ochroleucus, moderately long with acute apices; disc flat in lateral view. Legs: length of hind femur 2.8 mm (n = 1), tooth large; pro and mesofemoral teeth medium; hind femoral base broad with basolateral carina, with large oval punctures dorsad, clava largesized; vestiture of all femora of narrow, elongate, ochroleucus scales; tibiae subsinuate, pro and mesouncus large, metauncus small. Abdomen: sternite 1 not as long as 2 behind coxal cavity; sternite 2 ascending to 3; sternites 3 and 4 equal in length, combined longer than 5; sternite 5 truncate apically, with lateral tuft of setalike scales, medially with clavate, ochroleucus scales. Pygidium : small, triangular with dense tuft of elongate setalike white scales. Genitalia: median lobe of aedeagus 1.2 mm (n = 1) in length; 0.25 mm (n = 1) in width, margins thin with base and apex of equal width in dorsal view, moderately thick with deflected apex in lateral view, apex sharply tapered to acute point; apodeme 1.4 mm (n = 1) in length (Figs. 114–116).
Remarks. Appears similar to Curculio alboscutellatus (Roelofs) of group II, with similar macular fascia on elytra and basomedian macula proximal to scutellum on pronotum, but differs in length of hind femur, shape and length of rostrum and male genitalia.
