Diagnosis. This new species is distinguished from other Cretaceous Culicoides by the following female characters: antennal flagellum with cylindrical flagellomeres, 2–8 elongate, 9–13 greatly elongate, only flagellomere 1 with sensilla coeloconica; entire wing membrane with macrotrichia; palpal segment 3 slender without sensory pit; proboscis 2.1 x longer than eye height. Male unknown.

Description. Female ( Fig. 3A View FIGURE 3 ). Head-body length (minus antenna) ca. 1.0 mm. Head with greatly elongate proboscis (length 0.49 mm), ca. 2.1 x longer than eye height ( Fig. 3B View FIGURE 3 ). Eyes moderately separated. Antennal flagellum ( Fig. 3C View FIGURE 3 ) length 0.51 mm, with cylindrical flagellomeres, 2–8 elongate, 9–13 greatly elongate, flagellomere 1 with single sensillum coeloconicum; antennal ratio 1.02. Palpus ( Fig. 3B View FIGURE 3 ) 5-segmented, slender, ca. 0.25 mm long; segment 3 greatly elongate (ca. 0.10 mm), without sensory pit. Wing ( Fig. 3A View FIGURE 3 ) length 0.68 mm, costal vein 0.48 mm; costal ratio 0.71; entire membrane including basal radial cell covered with macrotrichia. Hind tarsomere 1 swollen; tibial comb with 3 spines; TR (2) 2.3, TR (3) 2.1. Abdominal sternite 8 with distinct caudomedian excavation.

Male. Unknown.

Material examined. Holotype female, NIGP 171164 (BA02 14253). Burmese amber, Hukawng Valley , Myan- mar. Syninclusions : Scatopsidae 1 male, Copeognatha 1, Hemiptera , 1. Deposited in the collections of the Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Nanjing.

Etymology. This new species is dedicated to PhD student Błażej Bojarski, Museum of Amber Inclusions, Uni- versity of Gdańsk, for preparing the inclusions for entomological study.
