This species has been recently described from the Galapagos Islands, where it is apparently common (Bungartz et al. 2013). The Bolivian record is the first one from continental South America.

Specimens examined. BOLIVIA. Dept. Santa Cruz: Prov. José Miguel de Velasco, NOEL KEMPFF, Camino los Fierros near Florida, 14°32’25”S, 61°03’13”W, 215 m, lowland Amazon forest, corticolous, 14 December 2009, AF 15564 & PR (KRAM, LPB).
