Biology. Unknown.

Distribution. Comoros: Mayotte (new records), Madagascar (e.g., Dallas 1851, Stål 1876, Reuter 1887, Brancsik 1893, Montandon 1897, Cachan 1952).

Comment. Westwood (1837: 17) described Coptosoma maculata with the following note ‘Habitat in Brasilia?’ However, in the catalog part of the same paper the distribution is given as ‘ Madagascar?’ ( Westwood 1837: 5, as Platycephala maculata ).
