[ Holotype: CASC; ♂ Palm Springs , California, USA; April 20, 1945]

This species is restricted to deserts where its plant host Larrea tridentata (DC.) Coville grows ( Fowler 2020). Ayala et al. (1996) reported this species in BC. The BBPT collected this species in the Central Desert (3 ♂; BC), Vizcaíno Desert (1 ♂), and Magdalena Plains (1 ♂; BCS) in March 2021. Voucher specimens are in MABC, and ECOAB. See fig. 154.
