Remarks. The species was described from Angola ( Westwood 1883). It is considered a controversial species

and an incertae sedis ( Schein 1954a). Schein (1954a) in the “general comments” (“I. Allgemeines”) referred to Coenochilus parrianus based in Schenkling (1921) catalogue (“ parrianus Westwood Tijdschr. voor Ent. 26 Seite 65 Angola ”). Taking into account this reference, it seems that the species considered by Schein (1954a) is indeed that which was described by Westwood (1883), i.e. Coenochilus parrianus from Angola. The same author stated also that the type of C. parrianus was unfortunately lost, concluding that “The Parrianus not mentioned in the Junk Schenkling catalog should therefore remain omitted” (“Der im Junk-Schenkling-Katalog ausgelassene Parrianus muss also weiter im Dunklen bleiben”). Biological and ecological data are not available, but see general comments in Schein (1954a) and the remarks under the genus Coenochilus .
