Replaced synonym: Dendrochilum celebesense H.A.Pedersen & Gravend., Blumea 49: 354 (2004).

Notes: not Coelogyne celebensis J.J.Sm., Bull. Jard. Bot. Buitenzorg , sér. 2, 25: 3 (1917); we consider the epithets celebensis and celebesensis, both referring to the island Celebes, to be confusingly similar in the sense of Art. 53.2 of the Code and therefore propose a new name. The new name also refers to the island of the original collection of this species.

Coelogyne sulphurea (Blume) Rchb. f., Bonplandia (Hannover) 5: 43 (1857).

Basionym: Chelonanthera sulphurea Blume, Bijdr. Fl. Ned. Ind. : 383 (1825).

Homotypic synonyms: Chelonistele sulphurea (Blume) Pfitzer in H.G.A.Engler (ed.), Pflanzenr., IV, 50 II B 7: 137 (1907). Pleione sulfurea (Blume) Kuntze, Revis. Gen. Pl. 2: 681 (1891) (as ‘sulfurea’).
